Books have always been an escape for me. Ever since I was younger I loved getting lost in a good book and that is one thing that has remained constant for me. I am active on Good Reads so if you want to follow along my reading journey there I will post the link for it below. I will also be posting on here some of my recommendations for books that I have recently read.
Now, I hate to call myself a basic b****….but I am. My favorite authors are Colleen Hoover, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Kristin Hannah, and Kelly Rimmer. I love a good romance but I am also super into murder/mystery books lately.
I just got done reading “The Housemaid” by Freida McFadden and I rated it 3.5 stars. It was a quick, easy read and I did enjoy it…but it was also a little far fetched. It was one of those books that started out one way and I thought I had things figured out but then it took a completely different turn from what I was expecting.
Before that I read “What Lies in the Woods” by Kate Alice Marshall and I rated it 3 stars. It got great reviews and I was so excited to pick this one up but I found myself not that interested in the storyline or the characters. It was just okay but I am glad that I finished it because it did have a decent ending; it’s just not a book I would recommend to a friend.
If I had to tell you right now what my favorite book that I have read this past year was I would definitely say ” Every Summer After” by Carly Fortune. It was such an easy, lighthearted, beautiful story that kept me intrigued from beginning to end. If you are looking for a great summer romance, that is the one I would recommend first.
I am currently reading “Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate. It is a slower start and I am finding myself not that excited to pick it up but I am hoping it will get more interesting. I will write another post when I finish it and let you know that I rate it!
